St. Patrick’s Day might not be as exciting as Halloween or Christmas to most families, but it can still be a fun day to celebrate with your kids.

My family is part Irish so, growing up, we always went “all out” for St. Patrick’s day. Mom always made corn beef and cabbage for dinner. In my hometown you could get a free ice cream at our local ice cream place if you were wearing green. I remember getting all decked out in green, painting my face, wearing a plastic green hat and green beaded necklace. It was always a lot of fun.
