Are you ready?
The biggest Christmas shopping mistake you’re making is throwing away money by NOT using Ebates.
Ebates is literally saying, “Hey, I see you’re spending some money there, would you like to have some of it back?” and you’re all like, “Um, excuse me? No, I like giving away all my money.”
You’re being kind of crazy.
What is Ebates?
Ebates is a website that pays you a percentage of your purchase back when you shop through them online.
They have thousands of your favorite stores to choose from, including Amazon, JC Penny’s, Carter’s, Etsy, Best Buy, Walmart, the list goes on and on.
After you have signed up for Ebates and you’re ready to shop, go to Ebates website first.
Click on the store you want to shop from and Ebates will send you to their website.
Do your shopping and BAM a percentage of the money you just spent goes into your Ebates account and then they send you a check!
I’ve receive four already, and i’m not going to lie, it’s pretty awesome.
But how does it work?
Listen, I get it, I’ve seen the Ebates commercials and it sounds way to good to be true.
But hear me out.
You know how realtors make money selling houses right? They only get paid when they make a sale because they get a commission off the house they sold.
Well Ebates works the same way.
Let’s say you want to shop at Amazon. When you go to Ebates first and click on Amazon on the Ebates website it tells Amazon that Ebates referred you there.
So when you make your purchase, Amazon pays Ebates a commission off the sale.
Now here’s where things get fun.
Ebates then takes that commission and shares it with you.
Amazon makes money, Ebates makes money, you make money.
It’s a win, win, win.
“But I don’t do a lot of online shopping”
Uggggh. This is the number one response I get when I tell people they should use Ebates, and it drives me crazy.
To be honest though, when I first heard about Ebates, I said the same thing.
So at first I dismissed Ebates.
It wasn’t until I needed to buy Alexa a sun hat that Ebates popped back into my head and I thought, hey you know I might as well.
Then it just made sense. Even if you only make a few online purchases a year the cash back adds up and getting a check in the mail is pretty awesome.
Now, if you want to get really frugal, you should switch to online shopping for almost everything.
Every month you’re buying things like toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.
You’re getting in your car, spending time and gas money to go to the store to pick up these thing.
Forget all that, shop online, save time, save gas money, miles on your car, and get cash back?
Um, yes please.
Seriously it just makes sense.
Christmas Shopping
If you’re someone who doesn’t do much online shopping throughout the year, at least try Ebates out this holiday season.
Chances are most people are going to do a little Christmas shopping online around the holidays. Especially with Cyber Monday fast approaching.
All I’m saying is give it a chance, because when you get that first check in the mail, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be hooked.
And annoyingly pushing it on all your family and friends and anyone who will listening because you love them and care about them and you want them to share in all the excitement that comes with free money!
