Looking for photo ideas for your wedding?
Welcome to the first post in the series I’m doing to share our wedding with you.
We’re sharing our wedding because a lot of our friends and family haven’t seen these photos yet.
But also to help spark ideas and inspiration for your own wedding if you are one of my readers.
In this post I’ll be sharing photo ideas for your wedding.
These were photos apart from the normal posed wedding group shots and couple photos.
These photos were those little sentimental moments and creative shots that our very talented photographer thought to capture.
I can not rave enough about Montgomery.
When she sent us our photos, shot after shot it was like watching fireworks.
Her style is so raw and powerful, but there’s also this mystic beauty to it that went so well with what I wanted from our wedding photos.
Please take some time to check out her other work. You could get lost for hours on her Instagram alone.

Photos of your wedding dress are a must have. You only wear it once and then it gets sealed away in a box so make sure to get plenty photos of it on and off. I also just love how the hanger is hooked into a crack in the log of the luxurious log home where we stayed.

When your wedding gown has this much intricate lace and bead work you need a close up shot. I got my beaded lace wedding gown from Lily Saratoga and it was altered by Yana La Page from WillFitUin. I highly recommend them both.
Lily’s is a small bridal shop in Saratoga Springs NY. They give you that elegant seating room with pedestal and mirror experience. There staff was very kind and knowledgeable. My only complaint would be the temperature in the building. I remember being very cold in the changing room while I was trying on dresses in the winter, then dripping sweat when my dress arrived in the summer.
Yana La Page was the seamstress who altered my dress. She had to remove hundreds of tiny beads, take in the dress, then sew beads back onto the dress. I can’t imagine the patience, let alone the sheer talent it takes to do that. She did a wonderful job with my dress and I was very pleased.

I also purchased my shoes from Lily Saratoga. I went with a small comfortable wedge for our outdoor wedding. They were Nina.

Across the river shot of the wedding venue. It’s amazing what a different point of view can do for a photo.

My favorite of all our wedding photos are these dramatic black and white shots. You’ll see plenty more throughout the series.

These next few photos are a series that go together. They brought tears to my eyes. This is the bride seeing the two flower girls dressed for the first time. My daughter and my youngest sister. I strongly encourage you to tell your photographer to get these shots.

Flower girl pedal dresses may be found here. These were beautiful flower girl dresses but we did get them very cheap. My 1.5 year old was able to tear off her flower. So buyer beware. Keep scrolling to see how that crisis was diverted.
The white flower shoes can be found here. No complaints with the shoes. They matched the dresses well and I loved how the toddler size came with a strap.

My something borrowed. The earrings my cousin, my best friend and other half growing up, wore at her wedding. So, so special.

A friend had given my husband the best idea of all when she told him to write me a note to read right before the wedding.

These next few are another series of tear jerkers. My older brother saying goodbye to me before him and the other groomsmen left to go to the venue.

A little wardrobe mishap lead to another undeniably cute photo series. As I had mentioned earlier, my daughter tore the flower off of her flower girl dress minutes before we were suppose to leave to go to the venue. Then her grandma comes to the rescue with her sewing kit. Thank God.

When it comes to weddings there are so many details to think of that you are bound to miss something. My something was not thinking I would want a full length look of myself before I left to get married.
While wonderful, the house we were staying in had no full length mirror so my bridesmaid and mother took one off the wall and held it for me to see.
This wasn’t a planned shot, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Wedding photo ideas for your wedding your should definitely consider.

When you think of wedding fashion photos you think of the wedding dress, jewelry, and shoes, but don’t forget the groom.
Get a close up of his tux and tie. Especially since his attire will most likely be rented.

Bride and groom just after they walked back down the isle together. It’s these little unposed moments that Montgomery captures that I love the most.

I’ve never come across these type of wedding photos before but Devin and I thought it was so neat. These next few photos are of my matron of honor and his best man (the witnesses) signing our marriage papers right after the ceremony.
