Trying to decide if the SNOO bassinet is worth it? I recently tried out the SNOO, and had a very positive experience with my third baby Vanessa. Read my full honest SNOO bassinet review to help decide if it’s the right choice for your family.

The SNOO Smart Sleeper Baby Bassinet is a bedside crib that gently rocks your baby and plays soothing white noise, designed to help newborns sleep better.

The SNOO really stood out with its automatic response to crying. It adjusts the rocking motion and sound to calm your baby. As a single mom of three, it was beyond helpful during those late nights.

This crib is also designed to keep baby sleeping safely on their back, which gave me so much peace of mind and allowed baby to be swaddled longer.

Bottom Line

If you want a bassinet that offers extra sleep support and safety, the SNOO is a great option to consider.

With its smart features and calming design, it could be a game-changer for sleep-deprived parents, but keep in mind that every baby is different. Vanessa loved hers but your baby might not.

Luckliy, the company that makes SNOO does offer a rental option. I recommend using it for at least two months and then if your baby doesn’t like it and isn’t sleeping well you can return it and get a regular bassinet.

While renting is an option note that parents have said the SNOO bassinet has great resale value so you might save more money purchasing your own SNOO and selling it when you’re done.

Unlocking Better Sleep: The SNOO Smart Sleeper Baby Bassinet

Using the Snoo was a life saver for me, especially during the middle of the night when I was desperate for some rest.

My baby settled into sleep much quicker with the gentle rocking and soothing white noise it provides. It felt reassuring to know my baby was safely on her back.

This bassinet responds automatically to fussing, adjusting its motion and sounds. It’s like having someone assist you round the clock.

The sleep sacks included are a fantastic touch, keeping the baby comfy and secure.

The price is definitely a consideration, but for those much-needed extra sleep hours, it was worth it for us. Just be ready for the cost—both initially and for the subscription after nine months.

Soothing and Safe: How SNOO Mimics the Womb

I was genuinely surprised by how well the SNOO recreated a womb-like environment. The gentle rocking motions, combined with the soothing white noise, offered a comforting space for relaxation.

My little one seemed to feel secure, as if cradled like in the womb, providing longer sleep stretches.

While I appreciated how well it helped my baby, one downside was that the responsiveness to cries sometimes felt abrupt.

It’s also worth noting the price, which might not fit every budget.

Despite that, having a bassinet that ensures my baby stays safely on the back gave me peace of mind. The use of hip-safe sleep sack swaddles reassured me of my baby’s safety each night.

Overall, the SNOO offers a comforting and safe sleep experience, justifying its role in our nursery.

Back Is Best: SNOO’s Commitment to Safety

I was really impressed by how serious the SNOO takes safety. It helps keep babies sleeping on their backs, which is the safest way for them to sleep. This is important because it lowers the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

The sleep sack swaddles that come with the bassinet make sure that my little one doesn’t roll over while sleeping. I found this feature really helpful in giving me peace of mind.

Although it’s on the pricey side, knowing my baby is safely cradled every night makes it worth it for me.

One downside is that it might not work perfectly for every baby, but it definitely helped mine sleep better.

Stay Connected With Your Baby: The SNOO App

Using the SNOO app was a game-changer in how I kept track of my baby’s sleep patterns. It’s like having a little assistant right on my phone.

I could see and adjust the SNOO settings from anywhere, which made life so much easier.

I loved having real-time notifications to know when my baby needed attention.

Adjusting the calming features was a breeze through the app, helping my baby stay calm without a fuss.

One downside is the monthly subscription fee after nine months, though you can choose the unpaid plan if you don’t need the extra features.

Overall, the SNOO app made the experience more user-friendly and helped me feel more connected, even when multitasking.

Trial Without Worry: 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

Trying something new can be daunting, especially when it involves your baby’s sleep. That’s why I appreciated the 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

With this, I felt like I had a safety net, which made it easier to commit.

Although the bassinet is a big investment, knowing I could return it if it didn’t meet expectations gave me confidence.

During the trial period, I could focus on how the features worked without worrying about being stuck with a product that wasn’t the right fit.

This guarantee really took a lot of the worry out of the decision.

It’s reassuring to have the option to test it out at home, ensuring it truly is the right choice. Whether it enhanced the sleep routine or needed to go back, having the option was a significant perk.

Pros and Cons

Pros

The SNOO bassinet helped me get so much more sleep during the newborn phase. It gently rocked my baby and used calming white noise to soothe her back to sleep.

The first month was a little hit or miss, but months 2 and 3 the SNOO had Vanessa sleeping 8-10 hours a night. That alone is why I tell everyone the SNOO is worth it’s weight in gold.

Also, thanks to the built-in safety feature, I felt at ease knowing my little one stayed on her back, safe and cozy in the sleep sack.

The app connection was handy, letting me adjust settings easily. While the SNOO does respond to baby on its own, I felt it was more effective when I adjusted levels from my phone.

Cons

The price was steep, which made me hesitate at first. It’s quite an investment, especially if you have twins.

There were times when the SNOO didn’t put her back to sleep as promised, like at night after the 4 month sleep regression. The noise and motion levels didn’t always improve her sleep as much as I expected they would.

After 4 months I don’t feel like it did much to improve her sleep at night, but I ended up keeping it until she was 6 months because of how much it helped with her naps.

Vanessa would wake up from every nap after 45 minutes and in a regular bassinet that would be the end of her nap.

But with the SNOO I could turn up the level after she had been napping for 40 minutes and that did the trick and got her to sleep for another 45 minutes.

Listening to Real Parents: SNOO Bassinet Customer Reviews

When I first tried out the Snoo with my little one, I noticed mixed feelings from other parents about their experience.

Many found that the gentle rocking and soothing sounds helped their babies sleep better, just like I did.

Some moms mentioned that it feels pricey but like myself, they felt the cost was worth it for the peace of mind and extra sleep in those first few months.

A few parents said their infants still woke up frequently, even with Snoo’s features while others felt as though it became an essential part of their baby’s sleep routine, helping them get a bit more rest.

It’s clear this product isn’t for everyone, but it can make life easier for many families. It’s important to weigh the cost against the benefits, knowing it might not work for every baby.

Conclusion

Using the Snoo has been a blessing, but go into your journey with realistic expectations. On one hand, its automatic rocking and soothing sounds are handy, especially during those tough, late-night hours. My newborn and I definitely got some extra sleep, compared to my experience with a regular bassinet with my first two babies.

The downside is the price. It’s quite a hefty investment, and the results can vary. It didn’t always help my baby sleep longer stretches at night once she hit her 4 month sleep regression, which was disappointing.

Still, I appreciate the safety features and it getting her to take longer naps.

Overall, the Snoo has some great perks but might not be a perfect fit for everyone’s needs or budget. In my experience it was definitely worth it though and I would recommend anyone give it a try if it’s in their budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

How effective is the SNOO Smart Sleeper in helping babies sleep?

From first-hand experience, the SNOO really aims to improve sleep for both babies and parents.

It promises to add about 1-2 hours of sleep each night with its gentle rocking motion and soothing sounds.

In my case, while it was effective for the first few months, it did lose effectiveness at night after she hit 4 month old. I think it depends on the baby and their unique sleep habits.

For some parents, though, the extra sleep is noticeable and very welcome!

What have parents’ experiences been with renting a SNOO bassinet?

I chose to rent the SNOO rather than buy. This approach seems to be a popular choice with other parents as well, given the high price of purchasing one.

Renting allows families to try it out without fully committing. Many parents feel this reduces the financial stress and makes it easier to decide if the SNOO is the right fit.

But keep in mind some parents found they were able to sell their SNOO for only a little less than they bought it for. So in that case buying was cheaper than renting.

If I could go back I would have bought one instead of renting because I kept mine for 6 month and it would have saved me money to buy and sell instead of rent.

Is the SNOO Smart Sleeper recommended by pediatricians or sleep experts?

The SNOO is designed in collaboration with pediatricians and sleep experts.

It follows sleep guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, particularly the practice of keeping babies on their backs while sleeping.

This is a big plus for parents like me who are concerned about safe sleep practices. Knowing that it’s created with expert input gives me some peace of mind during those long nights.

Are there any safety concerns associated with the use of the SNOO bassinet?

Safety is a top concern when it comes to baby products, and the SNOO tries to address this well.

It comes with a special swaddle that helps prevent risky rolling, which is reassuring.

Personally, I felt comfortable using it with my baby and would use it again—having her securely swaddled and staying on her back is a significant comfort.

Yet, like with any device, there are always different opinions.

Some parents express a preference for hands-on approaches without relying too much on automatic features.

Can you use the SNOO as a regular bassinet?

You absolutely can use the SNOO as a regular bassinet. You don’t have to turn it on and use the white noise or motion. You can also just use the white noise without motion.

During the first month there were a couple times I felt Vanessa didn’t want the motion so I kept here still. As time went on though we used all its features until she outgrew it.

I would say, if you plan on only using the SNOO as a regular bassinet and never using its features then you’d be wasting a lot of money.
