Coming up with breakfast ideas for a 12-month-old every single morning can get exhausting, especially when you’re sleep-deprived and your toddler is already asking for food before you’ve even had a sip of coffee.
With three kids, I’ve gone through this phase a few times now.
I remember being a little overwhelmed when Alexa was learning to eat solids and scrambling for ideas again when Hailee hit toddlerhood.
Now with Vanessa, I’m finding a rhythm so I wanted to share what’s actually worked for us this time around.
This post is filled with easy, realistic breakfast ideas that I’ve used with my own kids, especially Vanessa right now.
These are meals she’s genuinely enjoyed (most of the time!) and that don’t require fancy ingredients or a ton of time.
They’re perfect for busy mornings and full of simple combinations that are easy to prep and toddler-friendly.
Most of these breakfasts take less than 10 minutes to throw together, and I included a good mix of protein, healthy fats, fruits, and carbs to help keep little bellies full.
Whether you’re in the thick of baby-led weaning or just looking for new ideas, I hope this list gives you the variety and peace of mind you need.
Let’s jump in.

💡I love this plate for how simple and aesthetic it is. It’s the perfect portion size for toddler meals. It does have a suction base, but in my experience, the suction isn’t super strong—Vanessa is usually able to lift it off her highchair tray pretty easily. So if strong suction is a must for you, this might not be the best fit, but it still works great for us.

Final Thoughts
Feeding toddlers doesn’t have to be fancy or complicated.
These breakfasts are easy to throw together, full of real food, and approved by my own very opinionated 1-year-old.
If your toddler doesn’t love something the first time, don’t give up. Vanessa surprised me by refusing eggs one day and then asking for more the next.
I hope this post gave you some inspiration and made breakfast time just a little easier.
If you try one of these, let me know how it goes in the comments! I’d love to see your little one enjoying their breakfast too ❤️
