Baked Turkey Basil Pesto Sandwich

I had the most delicious turkey basil pesto sandwich at Starbucks the other day.

Alexa and I were picking up a few things for her to start daycare and got lunch there after. She said she only wanted a muffin but once she took one bite of my turkey pesto sandwich she ended up eating half she liked it so much.

I love a good hot sandwich. It was so delicious it left me wanting more. Especially since my little one ate half of it, the little monkey butt.

The ingredients were simple enough though so I picked them up at the grocery store and attempted to make my own version at home.

It was a success! This is definitely my new favorite sandwich. You have to try it!

If you’re at Starbucks and you want to try it you’ll see that theirs is actually a panini and they use a focaccia roll.

I do not have a panini maker so I baked mine and I actually liked it better.

I also couldn’t find focaccia rolls at my grocery stores so I got Italian sub rolls instead.

You can use whatever bread you like. Just know that the proportions for this sandwich are for a six inch roll.

The ratio of cheese, meat, pesto and pepper make the sandwich so great so if you use a smaller roll use less and for a bigger roll obviously use more.
