Gender Reveal Fireworks
Just the other night I was woken by the sound of fireworks. Later that day I was driving down my road and saw an empty pink and blue fireworks box with a question mark on it.
Boo for them littering and waking me up, but man that’s a cool summer gender reveal idea isn’t it?
It’s a fine stand alone idea but you can also decorate a nice backdrop with a balloon arch and get big marquee letters to spell out “Boy or Girl”.
Have the pregnant couple in front of the backdrop but have the fireworks go off behind it. That would make for some really nice gender reveal pictures.

Gender Reveal Plane Exhaust
Almost 6 years ago my cousin and her husband had the coolest gender reveal party I have ever been too.
I wrote about it and shared the video here. Their friend flew his plane over the party and let out blue smoke from the exhaust.
If you’re looking for an exciting and over the top summer gender reveal party idea, this is the way to go.

Gender Reveal Cotton Candy
If you’re looking for a simpler more low key gender reveal for summer you can try this super sweet cotton candy idea.
This probably wouldn’t be too hard to make yourself if you have a cotton candy machine, but you can also find it on Etsy here.

Waddle It Be
Perfect for a summer gender reveal party with a “Waddle it be?” theme. These little fizzy ducks change the color of warm water to reveal pink or blue.

What Will Baby Bee?
This gender reveal pull string confetti be hive is perfect for a “What Will Baby Be” summer gender reveal theme.
It’s the perfect addition to all the adorable bee themed party decor there is out there.

Outdoor Gender Reveal Movie
Imagine this. You set up your projector, a white sheet, and some lights. Set out some cozy pillows and blankets.
Everyone gathers around on a summer night for a special video presentation that reveals baby’s gender!

Gender Reveal Shooting Target
Better bring out the big guns for this summer gender reveal idea!
These hanging targets come packed with pink or blue powder that explode out when Dad takes his shot.
A fun and thrilling way to announce baby’s gender this summer!

Gender Reveal Confetti Umbrella
If explosives and shoot outs aren’t your style you can keep it simple this summer with a confetti umbrella gender reveal.
For added fun film the reveal and add a black and white filter until a few seconds after the confetti falls to make a black and white gender reveal video you can use to announce baby’s gender on social media.

Gender Reveal Sparklers
Light up the night with this magical gender reveal party idea for summer.
Mom and Dad to be start there sparklers and friends and family join in to find out if baby is a boy or girl.

Gender Reveal Bubbles
Back when I was pregnant with Hailee we tried to do a smoke bubble gender reveal. I watched this video where this guy shows you how to fill balloons with smoke from colored smoke bombs.
I did get this nice picture of a pink smoke filled bubble but unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the gender reveal video I was hoping to make.
A couple things went wrong. This was smack in the middle of Covid and social distancing so it was just her Dad and I trying to pull it off, we could have used some help. Then there was the wind that day which was insane and popping the bubbles almost immediately.
I also didn’t buy the same smoke bombs as the guy in the video so maybe they reacted differently with the bubble solution. Mine were a lot bigger so maybe it was too much smoke. I don’t know, I just remember the whole thing being a huge disappointment.
But honestly I would love to see someone pull this off with a nice video. If I ever have the time I’d love to try it again.
Alternatively, they do have this pink and blue bubble solution that you can put into bubble guns and have a couple volunteers shoot them at you for the reveal. I’m just not sure how obvious the color would be.

Flying Butterflies Gender Reveal Box
Now if you’re looking for something a little more intimate and simple then try this flying butterflies gender reveal box this summer.
When the box is opened pink or blue wind up butterflies fly out to reveal baby’s gender.

Bubble Dome Gender Reveal
These bubble domes are neat and you can use them a couple of ways for a summer gender reveal.
You can fill them with pink or blue balloons or confetti. Have the dome covered with a big blanket, then pull the blanket off to reveal the balloons or confetti swirling around from the blower.
I think it could also be cool for the couple to stand inside the dome and set off confetti cannons. That way the confetti doesn’t just burst out and fall because the blower will essentially create a gender reveal snow globe.

Ice-cream Cake Pop Gender Reveal
For my gender reveal party we did a cupcake reveal but if you want to take it to the next level, make ice-cream gender reveal cake pops for a summer theme.
When you take a bite they’ll reveal pink or blue cake pop! Delicious and super cute.
Super Soaker Gender Sign Reveal
I had to do some serious research for this idea. I wanted to do something with a secret message that was revealed when the couple sprayed a hose at or squirted a sign with squirt guns.
I couldn’t find and water revealed gender reveal signs but I did find this white paint that turns clear when wet.
Use it to paint a big gender reveal sign. Display it on an easel at your party and then use a hose to spray it or a super soaker for a fun gender reveal idea for summer.
Gender Reveal Ice-cream Bars
This gender reveal idea for summer is the perfect sweet treat to announce if baby is a boy or girl.
First you’ll need to fill these popsicle molds with melted vanilla ice-cream. Instead of popsicle sticks you’re going to want insert cake dowel rods for the first freeze.
Pop them in the freezer for about an hour. You want the ice-cream to be firm enough to hold its shape but still be able to remove the dowel.
Take the dowels out. Mix pink or blue food coloring with melted vanilla ice-cream and pour it into the holes. This time insert the popsicle sticks and freeze again.
Your gender reveal ice-cream bars are now done unless you want to decorate them. You can dip them in white melting chocolate and add pink and blue sprinkles, or anything you’d like.
Final Thoughts
Whether you want to go big or keep it simple any one of these gender reveal ideas for summer is going to make a splash at your gender reveal party.
I want to know what idea you chose! Let me know in the comments below and if you could be ever so kind please share this post with your friends on Pinterest. Please and thank you ❤️
