Blog Income & Traffic Report: December 2020

Another Mommy Blogger Blog Income And Traffic Report December 2020
Share

Welcome to Another Mommy Blogger’s twelfth and final blog income and traffic report.

I chose to report my blog income and traffic for an entire year to show anyone thinking about starting a blog that it is possible to make an income blogging.

Three years ago I was a new mother and I was desperate to find a way to work from home.

I started my blog and decided I was going to make it work no matter what.

I am no one special. Just an ordinary mom who talks about her journey through motherhood and I share tips I’ve learned along the way.

Now, every month I bring in a full-time income working no more than three hours a day. With a four month old and a four year old home with me everyday, most days I work a lot less than three hours.

I’m sharing this information with you because I want to give you the push to start your own blog. Anyone who is willing to put in the work can do exactly what I have done.

If you’re interested in starting a mom blog I’ve written an easy to follow guide HERE.

Blog Income & Traffic Report: December 2020

Income:

Mediavine: 4157.64

Amazon Associates: 183.20

Awin: 277.06

Total Income: 4617.90

That is 797.59 more than I made last month. My goal was to be making 5000 a month by the end of this year, but with how this year has gone I am not remotely disappointed with where I’m at.

Considering I only worked maybe ten hours this month, I am very happy with how much I’ve made.

I am so grateful and I thank God all the time that I am able to make this income and stay home with my kids. I feel very blessed.

Expenses:

imark Interactive: 27.00

BigScoots: 34.95

Canva Pro: 12.95

Giveaway: 50.00

Total Expenses: 124.90

I held a contest on Facebook this month and gave away a $50 Amazon gift card. I asked parents to submit photos of their Elf On The Shelf and I was going to use those photos in a blog post of Elf On The Shelf Ideas.

I didn’t get nearly as many people to participate as I was hoping so I don’t have enough photos to do the post. Even when you’re giving away money, getting people to participate in a giveaway is like pulling teeth. I probably won’t hold another one anytime soon.

While it may have been a total flop, I’m still glad I got to give someone $50 in time for the holidays.

Blog Traffic

Pageviews: 285,788

Thats an increase of 55,448 compared to last month. The crazy thing is I only published ONE blog post this month.

I’m still getting 99% of my traffic from Pinterest. The increase in traffic has to do with it being colder and the days being shorter. More people are inside with nothing to do so they’re online more.

RPM: $16.15

RPM means revenue per 1000 pageviews. So for every 1000 views I got this month I made $16.15. That is a decrease of 44 cents compared to last month.

December’s RPM should have been the highest it’s been all year. My RPM last December was $22.68. If it was $22.68 this year I would have made $6,463.80.

Thanks a lot COVID 😡

Email Subscribers: 40

This number is still laughable but I share it with you so you know you can still make money blogging without an email list.

Like everyone else, I was just trying to survive this year. Hopefully in 2021 I’ll have the time to put the work in to grow an email list because I know I’d be making a whole lot more if I had one.

I like to think of myself as a very lazy blogger. I have been doing the bare minimum to make this income and it’s nice. But I know that once I start putting in some real work things are really going to take off.

Social Media Followers

Facebook: 237

Up 5 from last month.

Pinterest: 4492

Up 224 from last month.

Plans For 2021

2020 was hard for all of us.

I know I had a lot of goals that I put on the back burner just to survive this year.

I really want to start publishing more content, grow my email list and social media following, start an Instagram. I’ve even been thinking about starting another blog!

But until schools open back up I think I’m going to continue to be in survival mode scraping by doing the bare minimum.

I hope you guys have enjoyed these income reports this year. Please if you have any questions leave a comment in the comment section below. I love to hear from you!

  1. Hey there, Thanks for sharing this awesome info. Its inspirational. I have been running a blog now since 2019 and have written 87 post and my traffic is still around 2000 sessions a month. Im confused at what I’m doing wrong. Im doing keyword research on each blog topic and following all blogging best practices to the best of my knowledge.

How did you get yourself past the 10k session mark? I feel like my posts just aren’t making a difference anymore.

Thanks again for the awesome info.

  2. Thank you so much for posting this! It’s so easy to get discouraged when you’re in the beginning or question if you’re on the right track. This post really helps to motivate.

I’m exactly where you were when you started…5-month-old and determined to work so home. I’m feeling like I’m getting lost in all the steps I need to complete.

Your site looks great! I want to be like you when I grow up 😂
