Welcome to Another Mommy Blogger’s 2022 Income & Traffic report.

At the beginning of 2020 I decided that for a year I was going to publish monthly income reports. I wanted to show my blogs growth and inspire mothers to start their own blogs so they could also work from home.

Of course I didn’t know at the beginning of the year, but 2020 was not the best year to track and announce my blogs progress. When COVID hit the economy tanked and the rate at which I got paid was cut in half 😥

Regardless, posting my income reports still encouraged many mothers to start their own blogs and I just can’t even explain to you how excited that makes me for them.

Now, when I posted my last income report in December 2020 I truly intended for that to be my last. Posting your income online for everyone to see can feel uncomfortable.

But here’s the thing, I WOULD NOT have started my blog if it had not been for the dozens of inspiring mom blog income reports I read online when I was first thinking of blogging.

After publishing my last and what I thought was my final income and traffic report so many women reached out with comments and emails asking for an update.

I’ve got to admit, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve published a blog post, let alone and income and traffic report. 2022 was a great year for the blog, but a rough year for my personal life.

I moved back to my hometown in upstate Ny, from Massachusetts with the girls. I went through a divorce and was learning how to be a single parent.

And I have to thank God for this blog, because with all I had going on I could not imagine having to work a regular job. Being a single mom is no joke and I give it up for all the moms who do it and work outside the home.

I’ve crunched the numbers and I honestly only worked an average of about 10 hours a week in 2022…and yet I made 15 thousand more than I did in 2021.

How in the hell did I do that? Well, let’s dive into this income and traffic report and I’ll explain.

If you’re on the fence about starting your own mom blog then pay attention because I want to show you how you can truly make a passive income, have less stress and more time to spend with your family too.

If you’re interested in starting a mom blog, I’ve written and easy to follow guide HERE.

Blog Income & Traffic Report 2022

Income:

Mediavine: 70163.27

Amazon Associates: 3234.86

Awin: 2517.72

Silly George: 140.58

Total Income: 76056.43

Writing this income report feels so surreal considering my first year blogging I hardly made 100 dollars.

I am so beyond grateful for this passive income stream that’s allowed me to work from home with my daughters. I could not imagine how miserable and tired I would be if it weren’t for this blog.

Like I said, with everything I had going on in 2022, I hardly worked. For the entire year I only published two blog posts.

I averaged working about 10 hours a week creating pin images to promote my old blog posts on Pinterest. I took the entire summer off and enjoyed everyday with the girls.

I was still able to make more money working less because the hours that I put in in previous years keep paying off month to month, year to year. When I write blog posts, they live on this blog forever and as long as people keep reading them…I keep making money.

I’m telling you all this because if you are on the fence about whether or not to start your own mom blog…JUMP. DO IT.

If your goal is to be able to work from home, work less, make more and have more time to spend with your family then start your blog now. Time is still going to pass whether you do it or not.

A year from now you could quit your 9-5 or you could put off starting your blog while the year goes by anyway and nothing changes. It’s up to you, but I am telling you right now if you do the research and put in the work consistently over 6 months to a year, you can not fail.

Expenses:

imark Interactive: 324.00

BigScoots: 419.40

Canva Pro: 223.00

Tailwind: 119.88

Total Expenses: 1068.28

As far as business expenses go, I believe to make over 75000 while only spending a little over 1000 is pretty good right? I’d say that’s a decent return on investment.

Blog Traffic

Pageviews: 3097288

I still get 99% of my traffic from Pinterest with a solid and consistent Pinterest strategy that seems to still be working regardless if my blog generates new content.

I create 5 new images for each of my blog posts and schedule them in tailwind so that 15 images pin a day. When those run out I just do it all over again. It takes about two weeks for me to create all the images and then those will run for a month or so.

That was pretty much my work schedule for the year. Two weeks on, one month off and then repeat.

RPM: $24.56

RPM means revenue per 1000 pageviews. So for every 1000 views my blog got this year I made $24.56

Email Subscribers: 2425

I don’t focus too much on my email list and that’s why it’s so small. The one thing I did do was create a 7 week meal plan to lose weight while breastfeeding without exercise.

In order to access the meal plan readers have to join my email list and that post is doing well so slowly my email list has grown since then.

I know I need to put more effort into this. It’s definitely not smart to rely on Pinterest alone to bring all your blog traffic. As I get back into blogging this is on my top priority list.

Social Media Followers

Facebook: 316

Facebook is not a big contributor to my blog traffic so I don’t focus much on trying to grow my audience on the platform.

I’m not a big fan of social media so I don’t have Instagram or anything else yet although I’m sure it would help grow my traffic. It’s just a time and interest concern for me honestly.

Pinterest: 13400

I don’t do anything special other than my Pinterest strategy I mentioned earlier in regards to growing my following on Pinterest. This number has just grown steadily in the 5 years I’ve been blogging.

What’s Next?

As nice as it has been to take it easy for a year and focus most of my energy on enjoying time with my children, I’m ready to get back in the game.

My divorce is over. I feel settled into my new lifestyle as a single mom. I still, and always will, put my kids first but I am an ambitious person and I have goals of achieving more. Working on those goals is so fulfilling so I’m ready to get back to blogging consistently and growing my monthly income.

If you’re not new to the blog then you may have read, or if you know me personally you may have heard…I’m working on a new blog!

I’m super excited about it and it just feels like the right next step so stay tuned. It’s a lot of work and I’m not rushing myself.

I want to create about 6 months of content before I launch and then when I do, everything will be scheduled to post. So essentially it’ll run itself for 6 months and hopefully in that time my traffic will grow enough to apply for Mediavine.

I also have hopes of starting an online store selling digital products but hey, one thing at a time right? Anyway, that’s a wrap for this income report and most likely for income reports from this blog in general.

If you guys have any questions at all PLEASE do not be shy. Leave a comment below or send me an email and I’ll get back to you asap.
